Daytona Beach For Vacation

The Weather

Florida is well-known as the Sunshine State, and for good reason. The weather in Daytona Beach is mild for the majority of the year, with temperatures rarely dropping below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degree Celsius) from May to October. The yearly average high is around 80 degrees. Water temperatures here are very enticing as well. Overall, this weather means you can visit any time of the year.

The Sand

Daytona Beach is commonly referred to as the most famous beach in the world. There are lots of things to do here. Driving on the beach is allowed, on ATVs and in cars, although at a very low speed. The sand attracts a lot of sunseekers who visit to enjoy a wide range of fun activities, such as beach volleyball, parasailing, paddleboarding, cycling, and more.

The Views

You can enjoy stunning city views from the Lofty Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Situated six miles north of Daytona Beach, it is the tallest lighthouse in Florida, standing 175 feet tall. You can use the steps to ascend to a gallery deck at the top. It’s a long way up, but the views it offers are certainly worth it.

The Nature

Daytona Beach is also an excellent place for nature lovers. Located just a twenty-minute drive from the city’s downtown, Tomoka State Park offers outstanding kayaking opportunities and serene hiking trails. This 900-acre peninsula has a rich history, and it is home to 90 species of fish, more than 170 species of bird, manatees, alligators, bobcats, and gopher tortoise. There are exceptional camping facilities here that feature space for RVs, grills, picnic tables, and more.

The History

If you love history, then you will surely appreciate a visit to Fort Matanzas National Monument. It is situated north of Daytona Beach on Rattlesnake Island and makes for a fascinating trip. Dating back to the 18th-century colonial wars, the land the fort is on is part of a barrier island ecosystem that’s home to a massive range of wildlife, e.g. beach mice, sea turtles, tiger owls, and more.

The Track

Daytona International Speedway is a racetrack in Daytona Beach, Florida. Since its inception in 1959, it has served as the site of the Daytona 500, NASCAR's most prestigious race as well as the season opener. In addition to NASCAR, the track hosts ARCA, AMA Superbike, IMSA, SCCA, and Motocross races. The track has several layouts, including the main 2.5-mile high-speed tri-oval, a 3.56-mile sports car course, a 2.95-mile motorcycle course, and 1.3-mile karting and motorcycle flat track. The track's 180-acre infield includes the 29-acre Lake Lloyd.

In addition to at least eight major racing weekends per year, the Speedway grounds are frequently used for civic and social gatherings, car shows, photoshoots, production vehicle testing, and police motorcycle training.

Take one of the daily tours at Daytona International Speedway to see the 31-degree high banks for yourself. Climb to the top of the podium in Gatorade Victory Lane for a photo in the footsteps of legends past and present. See this year's DAYTONA 500 champion car, which has been left in the same condition as when it won the race. After your tour, visit the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, which features breathtaking exhibits honoring all types of motorsports, including stock cars, sports cars, open-wheel, motorcycles, drag racing, land speed records, power boating, and aviation.

Daytona Beach is no doubt one of the top vacation destinations in Florida. It’s an amazing city with lots of attractions and sites to see. While it is most often associated with NASCAR lovers, it is an ideal vacation spot for families and large groups. Even though the weather in Daytona Beach is great throughout the year, most travel experts recommend visiting just before spring break, so you can take advantage of comfortable temperatures, low crowds, and discounted rooms.

We offer affordable charter bus rental to Daytona Beach from facilities in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.
